New Starter – Brandon Joseph-Fulgence
Brandon Joseph-Fulgence joined us this month as a Resourcing Analyst across finance. Brandon has a wealth of experience in this sector, and we wish him the best of luck. Welcome to the family, Brandon! Because we were seeing an increase in volume and market buoyancy, it was the perfect time to recruit and grow our core team. And Brandon’s background, forward-thinking approach, and natural communication skills made him the perfect fit.
Having recently started his role here at Market Talent, we caught up with Brandon about how everything’s going so far.
What attracted you to Market Talent?
Previously, I worked in the banking sector, and this new role expresses my passion for recruitment. Market Talent is a fairly new start-up finance recruitment consultancy and has been doing incredibly well in its niche. And when I read Market Talent’s values, I could relate to them so well!
What will your new role involve?
My new role will be completely different from my previous position at Metro Bank. It’ll now involve working for a recruitment consultancy, so I’ll be sourcing candidates using search engines – this is unlike what I was doing before.
What’s your previous experience?
At Metro Bank, I worked as a dedicated, client-centric Customer Service Representative, in which I strived to deliver best-in-class services to elevate client experience to support customers. I took the time to understand banking customers and build a rapport with them.
I provided a quality service experience to all customers by actively coordinating with all departments while efficiently resolving client queries and concerns. I had to ensure all transactions involving cash, cheques, and complex international payments complied with regulations.
What’s more, I assisted customers with fraudulent card disputes and set up online banking. I kept abreast with current cashier procedures by actively engaging in regional meetings and discussions. Another of my responsibilities was placing and receiving cash orders and maintaining stock levels according to business needs. Furthermore, I tracked and identified appropriate banking experiences for our customers by promoting lending, saving, mortgage, and insurance products while establishing rapport.
Why is your banking background useful for your new position?
My experience in banking is helpful because I understand and am knowledgeable about the banking sector and know the clients and candidates for the specific roles. All this experience helps when I search for clients, as I recognise the different job roles and what positions are suited to them for career development and progression.
As my professional career continues to evolve, I remain steadfast in my belief that teamwork is key to success. I possess excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, multitasking, and organisational skills, complete with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – which is why this new role fits so well with my prior experience.
What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy keeping fit and heading to the gym. I also dabble in a bit of portrait photography!
How was the interview and onboarding process for you?
It was an incredibly calm, relaxing, and understanding interviewing process. Aisha went into depth about the role itself and took the time to get to know me as a person, outlining the basis of the job role itself and expectations. Overall, I found it extremely informative.
Good luck, Brandon – we can’t wait to make you a superstar recruiter! If you’re looking for your next finance or banking role, speak to him about your career ideas by emailing brandon@martkettalent.co.uk.
