Prestigious West end banking organisation is seeking Treasury specialist to establishing and implementing an effective and timely control framework. Acting as the Middle Office function between Operations and the Dealing team, this autonomous role will see you monitor and measure utilisation of Intra Day, Overnight and Bank FX Limits and ensure business is conducted within established operational and market risk parameters. Reporting daily to Senior Management on Treasury activity and highlight any areas of interest / concern. Acting as the Bank’s SME for all matters related to Treasury Middle and Back Office issues.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Ensure Intra Day FX Limits are monitored within defined timescales and agreed with Treasury and Senior Management.
Ensure open positions are within approved limits before close of business daily
Ensuring Treasury limits are reviewed, updated and approved by Risk Management within accepted parameters.
Escalate breaches and exceptions in a timely and effective manner
Generate a daily Treasury pack to Treasury and Senior Management including any exceptions / breaches/concerns.
Provide Treasury with Intra Day Limit information at agreed frequencies throughout the day
Ensure that closing positions are agreed with Finance figures before close of business daily.
Monitor receipt of funds from counterparties /external parties and escalate non-receipt as necessary.
Ensure Investment Portfolio is priced and revalued daily.
Provide input to the ALCO Secretary to assist in the compilation and preparation of the monthly ALCO pack.
Ensure all deals are entered into the Banking System.
Ensure Risk Management, Operations Manager & Operations Associate is cross-trained to provide cover to above tasks.
Be a key member of the Operations management team, helping to improve all aspects of Operational process design, efficiency and processing.
Managing customer communications, including confirmations, payments and correspondence.
Effective operational procedures established, documented and complied with for the Treasury business
Effective systems of internal control established, maintained and complied with for the Treasury business.
At least 5 years’ hands-on experience within a Treasury Middle / Back Office Operations function
Understanding of Risk management techniques relating to Treasury Business
Understanding of market dynamics impacting Treasury decisions
Some exposure to Islamic Treasury would be an advantage
