Prestigious City based fund management business is seeking Operations specialist to join this growing and ambitious team. You will be responsible for all bond settlements undertaken by the Investment Grade, High Yield and Emerging Market desks. 2-4 years Fixed Income Settlements experience preferred.

Experience of working in a Trade Support role would also be an advantage as cover may be necessary at times. Knowledge of other Fixed Income products such as FX, Futures or OTC Derivatives would be useful. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely and efficient settlement of trades
  • Liaising with Brokers and Custodians to ensure timely settlement of trades
  • Fails Management – Investigating and resolving queries to facilitate settlement
  • Reviewing and follow up on Broker and Custodian unmatched/fails reports
  • Maintaining and updating SSI’s on ALERT   
  • Assisting US team with DTC and FedWire trades
  • Close interaction with US Trade Operations and Product Support teams
  • Process and coordination of wires for Japanese accounts
  • Investigate Interest Claims
  • Assist with Broker & Custodian feedback/meetings
  • Wide range of problem solving and issue resolution
  • Evaluating processes, suggesting improvements and implementing efficiencies
  • Production of monthly settlement reports for management
  • Adhoc settlement related tasks

Ad hoc requirements

  • Assume ownership for any operational issues that occur as a result of a post trade event and escalate to the appropriate parties to resolve
  • Anticipate issues that may adversely affect operational support and take action to reduce the risk of occurrences
  • Proactively seek ways to improve current processes by identifying inefficiencies and leveraging technology
  • Build key relationships with Custodians and Brokers to ensure proper service levels are achieved
  • Cross train with other operations associates in order to provide appropriate back-up coverage

Essential Knowledge

  • A thorough understanding of all aspects of Bond settlements, including Euroclear, Clearstream, DTC, Fedwire, Cross border / Domestic
  • Emerging Market settlement knowledge
