Salary: £450 - £500 p/day
Valuation Governance & Execution
Responsible for supervising valuation governance & execution. Responsibilities include independent price verification (IPV), Valuation Adjustment, Recommended Valuation Model controls, Regulatory Disclosures (Pru Val/ASU), Valuation Analysis and reporting. Responsible for ensuring data integrity and completeness. Responsible for compliance with firm's valuation policies and standards. Works independently to solve technical problems.
Valuation Control Review & Consultation
Responsible for supervising valuation control reviews and consultation. This core function includes Market Data Rejection review, Overrides, Aging Inventory Analysis, Stale Marks review, Compliance with VRG (Valuation Risk Group) policy, and Analysis of Disputed Marks. Leads assessment of on-going control reviews. Works with key stakeholders to resolve issues.
Responsible for supervising control reporting, which includes appropriate Escalation of issues, Audit Points, Control Improvement Points, Incident Reporting and SOX documentation and testing. Leads problem solving and resolution of issues.
Supporting Change and Continuous Improvement
Identify strategic opportunities to standardize current process and align with firm's strategic IT state. Ensure culture exists within group which enables processes to be challenged. Partner with Continuous Improvement or Strategic Change groups to build business cases and prioritize change efforts. Participate in Working Groups to review process and procedure.
Standards, Issues and Escalation
Responsible for ensuring polices are adhered to by the staff and applied consistently. Participate in issue analysis which may require changes to procedures, standards or systems, with appropriate escalation to the next level. When performing the core responsibilities, ensure controls are viewed from two perspectives: (a) the accuracy of the valuations used for financial reporting purposes and (b) detection of unauthorized trading. Escalate any issues.
Incorporate risk planning and mitigation into work efforts and ensure read across at the department level. Contribute to fulfill regulatory requirements.
Managing a small team and responsible for overall quality of work, client relations, and resource management. Direct, motivate and develop staff to maximize their individual contributions, professional growth and ability.
