Our client is a FCA licensed Consumer Finance business who are a seeking a Compliance Monitoring individual to join their growing Payday Loan Compliance team. The firm are currently at circa 25 full time employees and we are located based in City of London. The company is actively recruiting and is looking for enthusiastic candidates to join them in their exciting growth plans. Instalment loans and card lending are also current company objectives.

OVERVIEW / RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS (2ND LINE OF DEFENCE)

Implementing the compliance monitoring programme;

  • Carrying out thematic and deep dive compliance and conduct reviews of the business
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of compliance risk control
  • Review of all customer communications, including letters, emails, telephone calls
  • Review all first line of defense controls
  • Preparation of MI for committee meetings
  • Providing regulatory guidance to the business

Assist with complaints handling process

  • Investigate complaints and maintain case notes of correspondence and actions taken during the course of the complaint investigation
  • Issue written responses as per the FCA guidelines
  • Maintain the Complaint Log for reporting purposes and FCA requirements
  • Root cause analysis
  • Support the Ops Team with advice and coaching on the handling of complaints where necessary

Technical skills and competencies

  • Excellent written skills with the ability to construct clear, concise and comprehensive reports and letters
  • A logical approach and able to use own initiative
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and flexible attitude
  • Good knowledge of and able to comply with the FCA's rules and principles, particularly CONC
  • Consumer credit experience essential
  • Previous experience in a dispute resolution desirable
