Job Purpose

My client are a highly reputable boutique International Commercial Bank who have 8 branches around the UK. Their Manchester branch is currently seeking a mature and highly personable leader who will be supervising 5 team members within this branch. The Head of Branch Banking is seeking to see the following experience:

  • Experience in Credit Analysis of Commercial lending including Buy to Let and Commercial Loans.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team (large or small)
  • Open to and understand the smaller banking environment and its culture.

Team Management Objectives:

  • Coaching and training RM/RSO’s - ensuring all KPI’s are managed as per business scorecard
  • Quality Assurance support with stakeholder units
  • Country Credit Committee preparation and presentation of cases
  • Robust and strong personal diary management skills
  • Employee engagement and adherence to the bank's behaviours model

Client Objectives:

  • Portfolio Management of branches and adherence to TCF guidelines
  • Customer networking and managing client appointments
  • Trade & FX referrals to the business
  • Sirat referrals for clients seeking Islamic Banking solutions
  • Targeted account opening volumes

Commercial Objectives:

  • Targeted asset growth of the branch balance sheets
  • Targeted deposit growth of the branch balance sheets
  • Negotiate client proposals for assets and deposits
  • Submit proposals to internal credit and account opening teams
  • Disburse lending in accordance to branch targets

Control Objectives:

  • Manage credit renewals within bank policy and timescales
  • Ensure compliance entries and transactions are monitored in branches to policy
  • Enhanced Due Diligence is completed on accounts and branches manage to timescale
  • Excess monitoring of all key accounts and ensure all KRI’s are managed in branches
  • SLA’s for account openings are managed to business policy

Requirements of Experience

  • 5 years’ experience or equivalent RM role in Banking sector.
  • In-depth product knowledge
  • Customer service skills and relationship management
  • Client and portfolio knowledge
  • Knowledge of sector, regulatory environment, understanding Bank policy and procedure
  • Effective staff management, development and assessment
